I’m leading a concert as part of The USAF Band Chamber Players Series! I decided to focus on jazz duo playing, which is one of my favorite musical formats due to the degree of freedom and spectrum of possibility. Playing duo relies on a combination of instinct, trust, and open-mindedness, and so if both players are attuned to each other, the music can go in any direction! I’ll be presenting four original pieces (one of which is a world premiere), supplemented with works by Ellington, Monk, Hersch and more.
