This is one of the best-kept secrets in NYC! This truly amazing large ensemble plays at Terraza 7 on the first Thursday of every month, and is co-led by saxophonist-composer Michael Thomas and bassist-composer Edward Perez. The lineup is a little different every week, but ALWAYS features some of the best musicians in the area. Past participants have included saxophonists Will Vinson and Ron Blake and trombonist Ryan Keberle. Each week also features some new premieres by Michael or Edward. Best of all, the cover is only $10! At 9:00 the band has an open rehearsal of the tunes, and then at 10:15 or so it's all performed as a set.
