I'll be heading to Shapeshifter Lab in Brooklyn to perform trombonist/composer Nick Finzer's Ten Year Suite, commissioned by the Institute for Creative Music. The performance will feature a stellar ten-piece ensemble: Michael Thomas, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown and Andrew Gutauskas (saxophones), Nick Finzer (trombone and compositions), Matthew Jodrell (trumpet), Andrew Renfroe (guitar), Steven Feifke and myself (piano/keyboard), Dave Baron (bass) and Bryan Carter (drums). We'll be preceded by Andy Clausen's Split Stream Band at 7pm. $8 admission.
